Welcome to the newest chapter of the Barber's Den story, nestled on one of Boston's most storied blocks at 245 Newbury Street in the heart of Back Bay. Newbury Street has always been Boston's main street for people who care about how things are made. Eight blocks of brownstones, independent boutiques, galleries, chefs, and designers who've chosen Back Bay because the standard is higher here. We've chosen it for the same reason. Barbershop Lounge has held this Newbury Street chair for nearly a decade, building a reputation as one of Boston’s most iconic grooming destinations.
In November 2026, founder Evan and the Barber's Den team stepped into that history, welcoming the team of barbers and stylists into the Den family with care and respect for everything they've built. The chairs stay. The team stays. The Barber's Den brand grows.
For the Barbershop Lounge community, little will change about what matters most, and the shop will remain open throughout the transition. Over the coming months, signage, booking, and online touchpoints will be updated, with longtime Lounge clients introduced personally to the Barber's Den brand, its standards, and its team.
For now, the shop will continue to operate as Barbershop Lounge through a thoughtful transition period, with the official rebrand to Barber's Den scheduled for early 2027. Longtime Lounge clients will see the same team and the same experience they've always come for, now backed by the broader network, expanded expertise, and signature standards of our five-shop family across Somerville, Belmont, Melrose, and now Boston’s Back Bay.

Our Barbers
Rosa | Master Stylist
A founding member of the 245 Newbury Street shop, Rosa helped launch it in 2008 and hasn't looked back since. With over 30 years in the industry, she's built a deep following among Back Bay's business crowd, and equally sharp with medium-to-long scissor work, grey blending, and natural clipper cuts. When she's not behind the chair, she's cooking and entertaining for family and friends.
Valeria | Master Stylist
Another original team member, Valeria was recruited in 2008 to build out the salon side and has been doing exactly that ever since. 15+ years of master-stylist experience, with a specialty in natural clipper cuts, scissor-shaped haircuts, and grey blending with color, finished with a blow dry. Outside the shop: dancing, cooking, and hunting down new music.
Bo | Barber & Stylist
Eight years into his run at 245 Newbury, Bo is a dual-licensed barber and stylist with a technique he built from scratch to meet the demands of one of Boston's most particular clientele. Tight fades, beard trims, layered cuts, any length, any texture, Bo's got it. When he's away from the chair: traveling, biking, and making time for cars and family.
Maleena | Master Barber & Stylist
Maleena is a master barber and stylist who's absolutely obsessed with her craft. Her signature move is reading bone structure and shaping the cut around it, whether that's a tight fade, a lived-in look, a beard trim, a head shave, or a face shave. She leans hard on consultation because she wants you to leave confident, not just cut.
Kristin | Master Barber & Cosmetologist
Kristin has been part of the Newbury Street team since 2012. Master barber, cosmetologist, and one of the most efficient hands in the shop, she handles almost any hair type or situation, and she's built lasting relationships with clients who come back year after year.
Darrin | Barber
Darrin came to Newbury Street in Fall 2023 after years on Mass Ave at Floyd's and a stint working independently. He specializes in tight fades and classic gentlemen's clipper cuts, with strong shaves and beard work to match. Careful, thoughtful, and a lover of a great haircut himself, which shows in every cut he delivers.
Zak | Barber
Zak joined the team in 2024 after building his career at Anfa Barbers just down the street. Equally sharp with scissors or clippers, strong on every length and texture, and a specialist in shaves and beard work… his own beard speaks for itself.
Dougie | Hairstylist
From living in LA and Las Vegas, Bailey came back to her roots in New England to bet on herself in the industry she grew up in, barbering. Her grandfathers barbershop is no longer here, but her impact stems from his legacy. She loves getting to know her clients, sharing stories, and perfecting the eye for details.
